The pastor spoke of the controversies in his ministry during an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the media entrepreneur.

 Tobi Adegboyega

The founder of SPAC Nation, Tobi Adegboyega, has made a dazzling claim.

The pastor claimed that his church took more knives off the streets of the UK than the Metropolitan Police.

The pastor spoke of the controversies in his ministry during an interview with Chude Jideonwo, the media entrepreneur.

Adegboyega said converts often surrendered drugs on the altar while UK police officers would collect them.

He also claimed his church achieved a lot more in curbing knife crime in the UK than the Met Police in one year.

“I think we got known because we were not just in a static place. We didn’t wait for people to come to us. We went to people. We went from 200 and 300 [members to about 1000 plus, all of a sudden,” the cleric said.

“We discovered that we were connecting more with the people we wanted to reach. We would finish the service and our altar would be filled with all manner of drugs. We didn’t even know how to report to the police.

“We were just doing our thing. At times I would say that, if the police came in, we would be in trouble because where we used was not even a church building. After that, the police started their amnesty.

“There’s knife crime in the UK. We took more knives off the streets in one year than the metropolitan police. After each service, at least three police vans would come to collect things that people had surrendered on the altar.”

Adegboyega earlier addressed the backlash that trailed his mingling with secular musicians and display of wealth.

In June, the UK government shut down Adegboyega’s church over fraud allegations.

It said SPAC failed to account for more than £1.87 million in expenditure and operated with non-transparency.

Some disciples of the late founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) Prophet TB Joshua have been invited for questioning by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The disciples are alleged to have engaged in financial fraud and diversion of the church’s funds.

It was gathered that the anti-graft agency invited the disciples who included Nigerian and foreign prophets and prophetesses of the church.

A letter released by the commission has directed the church to release the disciples for an interview through the Special Investigation Team (STI).

The Commander of EFCC in Lagos State, Ahmed Ghali, in the letter, said the disciples are being questioned for allegedly syphoning funds and breaking of the church’s vault.

The disciples reportedly invited by the Commission include Obasa Damilola Tinuola, Obasa Folake, Mosun Adeloju, Yakubu Abeni, Omoitoh Omoye, Adebola Olamide Morenike, Bousso Racine, Eugune Rademeyer, Cindy Elizabeth Widjaja, Fanny Elma Alfred, Angela Marie Brandt, Graham Nadine, Tonge Christopher, Catherine Ann Farr, Enrique Miguel, Olayinka Deborah Egbejobi, Mari-Anne Uchechi Ibe, David Omojevbe Joseph, Tonge Ruth, Polo Sandoval Allison.

A source who spoke with The Guardian on the incident, disclosed that the disciples who are close to the late prophet allegedly emptied a vault located in the church and also put up his private aircraft for sale.

“They have carried out huge fraud that has made many of them multi-millionaires since Baba’s death. Many of them are on the list of EFCC. They are up to 20. They seized the church immediately after the Prophet died in June and didn’t want his wife, Mrs Evelyn Joshua, to be part of the church. They have made themselves Overseers. They have established a governing council with some living in the prayer mountains. They went to the vault at night and used a Ghana-Must-Go bag to loot money. They also went to open the Emmanuel global network where they asked international partners to donate without the knowledge of Evelyn.”

The source added that the contact information on four of the late T.B Joshua’s mobile phones was wiped off weeks after his death.

“T.B Joshua’s phones were seized by some disciples for some time and when Mama was asking for his phones and it became an issue they returned the phones to Evelyn and wiped out both the memory and contacts in the phone. They had worked with Baba over the years and they are Prophet and Prophetess and people who travelled a lot with Baba before his death. Some of them are 50 years of age and some were asked to go in the past.”

Meanwhile, the wife of the late founder of SCOAN, Evelyn has been appointed as the leader of the church.

She said this while addressing the public for the first time since being named the new leader of the church.

Late Prophet TB Joshua is still the General Overseer of the Synagogue Church of all Nations, his wife Evelyn Joshua has stated.

She said this while addressing the public for the first time since being named the new leader of the church.

The church had announced her as new leader on Saturday after a Federal High Court in Lagos appointed her as chairperson of the church’s board of trustees.

Evelyn made a rallying call to the church members and partners in a video posted to Twitter on Monday.

In an apparent effort to appease aggrieved persons, she declared that her late husband Prophet TB Joshua remains the founder and general overseer of the church.

She said, “I am pleased to address you at this moment upon my appointment as the leader of the SCOAN.

“To all our members, partners, friends, and compatriots of faith, I say Good morning and win today. It has been three months since the glorious home call of our dear father, founder and General overseer, Senior Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, which occurred on June 5, 2021.

“These past three months have surely been challenging but we thank you all for remaining strong and for keeping the faith as we have been trained, built, instructed, and taught by God’s servant himself that trails are the soil upon which faith flourishes. We salute your faith.

“Today, like always, is a new dawn in the SCOAN. As we all know Prophet TB Joshua fought his good fight of the kingdom and finished strong to the glory of God. We have now commenced the journey from where our father left the baton.

“He had already prepared us all for this new phase and we must rise up to the occasion as a team under the command of God and the direction of the Holy Spirit.

“This journey is for us all. The SCOAN cannot be without you, all the members, partners and friends of the ministry.

“So, this now serves as a clarion call for you to rise as an army of God as we push this great commission forward.

“I am not your general overseer. My dear husband and our dear father, the prophet for generations, senior Prophet TB Joshua remains the founder and general overseer of the SCOAN.”

The leadership of the church had on Sunday said no one is being victimised or detained over the ongoing audit.

Pastor Tunde Bakare has talked about what made him tore a book written by Bishop Oyedepo.

The founder of Citadel Global Community Church, Tunde Bakare has admitted tearing apart a book written by his colleague, Bishop David Oyedepo of the Living Faith Church.

Pastor Bakare opened up on the reason why he tore the book.

According to him, he tore the book because it was full of scriptural errors.

He explained that the book which claimed that anointing oil is not a symbol of the Holy Spirit was erroneously written.

The clergyman, who spoke on TVC’s ‘The Big Talk’, however, said he has nothing against Bishop Oyedepo.

Bakare said he only stands for the truth.

“There is a difference between issues and persons.

“I have nothing personal against any man of God including Oyedepo, but I will always defend the truth that I know, and I will always make it plain.

“How can someone say the anointing oil is not a symbol of the Holy Spirit? It is the release of God in the bottle. If it is told to a few people, it is okay.

“If anointing oil is the Holy Spirit, then Jesus is a lamb walking on four legs. They are symbols,” he said.

Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) President, Rev. Supo Ayokunle has laid a curse on people planning to turn Nigeria to Afghanistan.

Recall that Taliban terrorists recently took over Afghanistan.

Ayokunle vowed that Nigeria will never be like Afghanistan.

The cleric cursed bandits, kidnappers, terrorists, their sponsors and declared that an end has come to insecurity and violence nationwide.

Ayokunle spoke at the opening of the 39th Holy Ghost Convention 2021 of the Sword of the Spirit Ministries, Sunday evening in Ibadan.

The Christian leader said the situation in the country was because people neglected God and took His words for granted.

He lamented that corruption had become a way of life in government, companies, families, religious centres and others.

The CAN president prophesied showers of rain that will will bring freshness to the country and the citizens.

“The Lord will fight the beast of bandits, Boko Haram, religious terrorists, kidnappers, other criminals operating in Nigeria and caused them to be wiped away in Jesus name.

“I prophesy into you Nigeria and Nigerians that our economy is going to bounce back and Nigeria will flourish.

Ayokunle predicted Nigerians will flourish and that those in the diaspora will return home to “possess their possessions.

“Nigerians will not be fugitives anywhere anymore. The name Nigeria shall be respected everywhere, the lost glory shall be restored in full.

“Nigeria is not going to become Afghanistan, no Taliban is going to take over here. We tear every false prophecy apart concerning Nigeria in Jesus Name”, he prayed.

After the fall of Kabul, the Taliban swore to impose Islamic law in all countries of the world.

A director of the Islamic police, Kibiya said it is against the tenets of Islam to publicly criticize a leader.

Hisbah

The Kano Hisbah Board has disclosed why the rich and poor are treated differently while punishing those who disobey their rules.

A director of the Islamic police, Aliyu Kibiya gave the explanation while featuring on a Freedom Radio programme.

Kibiya said it is against the tenets of Islam to publicly criticize a leader.

He said;

“Although we call on everybody in the society to do the right thing, but we make the call on case by case basis.

“It is against the tenets of Islam to mount the podium and call out leaders. There are ways to caution a leader without criticizing him in public."

The Sharia police recently came under fire for allegedly turning a blind eye to some acts committed by the rich and clamping down on young men from poor homes with stylish haircuts, in addition to banning mannequins at fashion shops.

Though the commander-general of the board, Haroun Ibn-Sina told the radio station that they also arrest the children of the rich, he did not cite examples of the children of the rich they've arrested.

The children have been medically examined and declared fit to join their families except for 4 of them who will require more medical attention.

Niger State Govt Reunites 90 Tegina Islamic Students With Their Parents

The students of Salihu Tanko Islamic School, Tegina who regained freedom have met with the Niger state governor, who reunited them with their families.

While addressing the press, the governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, said a total of 91children and 2 passers-by were kidnapped out of which 92 regained their freedom but unfortunately one of the children died.

He appreciated the security operatives, his Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Rafi Local Government Chairman, and all those who contributed to the release of the abductees.

He expressed concern over the callous manner in which the bandits operate, adding that their activities are in no small measure discouraging parents from sending their children to school. The Governor however assured that criminals will be hunted down and be made to face the wrath of the law.

"This goes to show the sickness and madness in the heads of some people. Otherwise, I cannot explain or imagine why you should abduct an innocent 3-year-old child and keep him or her for over 80 days.

This has affected the morale and confidence in people and has made even parents think twice before they send their children to school.

However, I can assure you that we will do whatever it takes to bring them to justice. We have put in place all necessary measures to hunt down and prosecute those involved in this heinous act.'
' he said.

Governor Bello said the children have been medically examined and declared fit to join their families except for 4 of them who will require more medical attention.

The Islamic school pupils who were kidnapped on the 30th of May, 2021 were said to have arrived in Minna the state capital late last night. The children, looking feeble and malnourished, were taken directly to a government health care facility within Minna metropolis, where the medical teams were readily available for thorough and proper medical examinations for the children after they were fed.

The Principal of the Islamic school Mallam Abubakar Garba Alhassan appreciated the role played by the state government, security personnel, and others in securing the release of the state children.

Some of the elated parents shaded tears of joy appreciating God for the safe release of their children.

The Christian Association of Nigeria alleged that there are attempts to hijack its leadership and destabilise the association.

CAN

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has lamented about the persecution of Christians in the Northern region of the country.

CAN’s Assistant General Secretary and Chairman of CAN’s anniversary celebration committee, Elder Biodun Sanyaolu who spoke at the association's 45th anniversary in Abuja, alleged that there are attempts to hijack its leadership and destabilise the association.

Stressing that the country is under the siege of “external forces” including Boko Haram and the Islamic State West African Province terrorists, Sanyaolu added that while Christians are allegedly being persecuted by being denied promotion and appointments, churches are allegedly being denied certificates of occupancy in many Northern states and many public schools have removed Christian Religious Knowledge (CRK) from their curriculum.

He said;

“Since, the Association came on board on August 27, 1976, it has been consistent in standing against evil in the land.

“But today it is regrettable that there is a siege on the Church which all began with the killings and burning of churches in some states in the North at the emergence of Boko Haram terrorists. Their primary targets, according to their declaration, were Christians and Muslims who stand in their way.

“Our members are being persecuted because of their faith. Some were denied their rights like promotion and appointments. Churches were denied certificates of occupancy in many states in the North while many public schools have removed Christian Religious Knowledge from their curriculum.

“It is also reprehensible that the security architecture of the country has been compromised. Some external forces are making futile attempts to hijack the Association. But we cannot lose our focus.”

Sanyaolu also said that in spite of all these,  CAN had a reason to thank God. He added;

“While we mark our 45th anniversary today, we have declared three days, 24 – 26 September to celebrate God’s goodness and faithfulness.

“However, tomorrow is for fasting and prayers nationwide against the menace of insecurity, economic hardships, erosion of moral values and we shall ask God for forgiveness and mercy."

A Nollywood actress and human rights’ activist, Chioma Ifemeludike, became the latest woman to claim Suleman paid her over N500,000 and had sex with her.

Apostle Johnson Suleman

Some Nigerian men and woman on social media platforms have demanded a probe of the Senior Pastor and General Overseer, Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, over his growing alleged s*x scandals.

A Nollywood actress and human rights’ activist, Chioma Ifemeludike, became the latest woman to claim Suleman paid her over N500,000 and had sex with her.

The actress and producer, who has been in the Nollywood industry for nine years, had revealed that she had no idea that the man of God was quite prominent at the time she had an intercourse with him.

Chioma on her Instagram page recalled that the first deal of her encounter of romp sex with the man of God was sealed through a hookup by another lady, Linda Clems, noting that at the second time, she clearly recognised him because they exchanged numbers during the first romp and communicated thereafter.

She had said, “Dear @lyndaclems, I have to tell the world about that hookup you arranged between @johnson_suleman_official and myself on the 20th November 2016 in a hotel at Ikeja, the Apostle secretly gave me his number and we had a second meeting at Oriental Hotels Lagos.

“I’m sorry my conscience can’t hold it anymore. I encourage you to tell the truth as a mother and a Christian, to put the devil to shame and save millions of souls being misled. To my family and friends, I am sorry, don’t judge me. Please pray for me so the light of God will continue to expose every work of darkness in my life and the church of God.”

In a video obtained by SaharaReporters, Chioma noted that her public confession came after her spirit continued to torment her, and she needed to make restitution for her sin.

SaharaReporters in February 2021 also reported that a former pastor of the Omega Fire Ministries, Mike Davids, accused Suleman, of sleeping with his wife.

He added he was ready to expose the truths behind Stephanie Otobo’s sex scandal.

The case of Otobo, a Canada-based singer, came up in 2017 and 2018 when she accused Suleman of sexual relationship – a controversial scandal that plagued the church and attracted the attention of Nigerians for months.

Davids in a video had noted that he and Suleman both knew how they got Otobo to come to the church in Auchi, and apologise over the scandal and how they persuaded her mother too. Davids had accused Suleman of sleeping with his wife, Faith Edeko, who currently heads an Abuja branch of the church.

He had said, “I left the church (Omega Fire Ministries) of my freewill. You were never the one who sent me out of that ministry. I was tired of your ungodliness as a leader. And that was the major reason I left that ministry. So, forget those manipulations and cheap lies.

“We all know the part I played in the Stephanie Otobo saga. You know as much as I do. How much involved I was in bringing that saga to a halt. I don’t even need to mention names. You knew how we got Stephanie Otobo to come to the altar and apologise to mama (Suleman’s wife) and brought Stephanie Otobo’s mother to Auchi.

“I am coming to that issue because you are pushing me to that extent, Apostle Johnson Suleman as much as I knew what happened. Thirdly, I am also aware that my account has been frozen. You have also released policemen to get me arrested.

“You have 48 hours to ask those who are blocking my account to unblock it. You will not like what is going to follow.”

In January 2018, Otobo accused Suleman of impregnating her and breaching a promise to marry her.

She claimed she had sex romps with the pastor in Italy, New York and Nigeria.

Otobo said she had pictures of the pastor exposing his private parts, evidence of which it said would emerge in court.

In March 2017, SaharaReporters also released a report on how Suleman, who was at the center of an adultery scandal, gave a $76,000 brand-new Mercedes-Benz 450 GL to Nollywood star Daniella Okeke in 2016.

Ms. Okeke was previously named by Otobo, Apostle Suleman’s estranged lover, as being one of the other women in his life.

For her part, the actress in 2016 proudly displayed the Mercedes-Benz SUV GL 450 on her Instagram page in front of a brand-new house where she parked it.

After her name was revealed by Otobo at a press conference covered extensively by SaharaReporters, some Nigerians invaded Ms. Okeke’s Instagram questioning the source of her wealth given that she had not featured in any prominent movies in recent years.

The more inquisitive among them took advantage of a new website for vehicle registration in Lagos State which unveils the ownership of any vehicles by its number due to a bug on the web page, and discovered that one of Okeke’s most prized possessions, the posh Mercedes-Benz car, was registered to “Apostle Suleman Johnson.”

Reacting on Twitter, some Nigerians asked religious organisations to investigate the different allegations against the pastor.

Below are some reactions;

"We have more than 10,000 pastors in Nigeria. How many ladies have accused Pastor Adeboye, Oyedepo, Okonkwo, Oritsejafor, Lazarus Mouka of sleeping with them? Why this man all the time? Is it that he has more anointing than the pastors I mentioned?" — Ademola (@calldemy4u)

I'm not saying it's true or false. But my instinct is telling there maybe - just maybe an ounce of truth in all these sex saga involving Suleiman with these ladies — Chimaa (@sir_chimaesq)

This Suleman matter don too much, can 5 different laddies blackmailing one man. It's not possible this guy is a beast — LEGIT NEWS (@jagabandeyor)

"Stop defending rubbish, if E sure for you answer this questions?

2. What exam is he putting out there as an apostle

3. If it's your sister that he slept with coz of material gain how will you feel?

4. Do you see prostitution as a profession?  — Mr Ambiguous (@osudifesheriff)

"I was waiting for Sahara Reporters to use the word popular Nollywood actress because I have not even seen her face on TV not even soaps. The allegations against this man is getting out of control or person dey wear him mask commit?" — The mouthpiece (@bluntthinker)

"it beats my imagination why always him. A servant of God does even thing to avoid controversies, but you see oga here he dines and wines with controversies. Na wa oh". — EDOID (@courage4Eye)

"Why are there so much accusations against this man? The religious organizations should look into this man". — Nwandu Anya (@Nwa_anyamele)

"I used to defend this pastor Suleiman, now I don't have any respect for him. When Stephanie Otobo accused him of having something with her, we rubbished her and never believed her. Now I owe Stephanie an apology." — Kendo (@Kendo81326098)

The fiery priest was ordered to stop using his position to promote what appeared to be partisan politics.

Mbaka

The Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria, CBCN has given an explanation why popular Catholic Priest, Ejike Mbaka was banned from making political statement.

Mbaka is the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministries Enugu Nigeria, AMEN.

According to the Bishops, the fiery priest was ordered to stop using his position to promote what appeared to be partisan politics.

In an address at the opening mass of the ongoing second CBCN plenary in Enugu, the President of the conference and Archbishop of Benin Catholic Archdiocese, Most Rev. Augustine Akubeze, said it was not the practice of the church to identify unelected leaders through prophetic visions, dreams or revelation.

“Anyone who pronounces a particular candidate as God’s anointed political leader is not speaking for the church.

“We will like to state that the church is interested in the political situation in Nigeria. Although the church does not support any party, it praises every government that prioritises the welfare of the citizens.

”At the same time, the church condemns any government policy that is not people-friendly.

“We must make it clear once again that no cleric is expected to use his position or ecclesiastical property to promote what appears to be partisan politics. The church believes that political parties have persons that can lead.

“Therefore, it is imperative that clerics must avoid every form of political endorsement using the ecclesiastical positions given them. At the same time, it is not the practice of the church to identify unelected leaders through some form of prophetic visions or dreams or revelation,” he said.

Recall that the Catholic Church in June banned Fr Mbaka from commenting on partisan politics.

In a letter to the cleric, the Catholic Bishop of Enugu Diocese, Most Rev. Callistus Onaga, announced the conversion of the Adoration Ministry to a chaplaincy which means that the bishop now has the power to appoint a chaplain to oversee its operations.

The preacher said this while telling his congregation that he was not angry at those attacking him on social media.

Apostle Johnson Suleman

Apostle Johnson Suleman, the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministry (OFM), has said he did not watch a video in which Nigerian actress, Chioma Ifemeludike alleged she had sex with the cleric twice and was paid N500,000 for her troubles.

He, therefore, stated that he could not be discouraged by what he did not see.

The preacher said this while telling his congregation that he was not angry at those attacking him on social media.

Nollywood actress, Chioma Ifemeludike had alleged that she slept with the popular clergyman on two occasions and was paid a sum of N500,000, but the memory has continued to torment her.

Reacting, Apostle Suleman implored his congregation and followers not to send him any encouraging messages again.

“Why are you encouraging a man that is not discouraged? I’m upset since yesterday. I saw messages saying that I should not worry. Read my countenance, when you see me moody you can encourage me.

"Do I look like somebody who needs encouragement? I’m not discouraged at all and I’m not angry at those insulting me on social media,” he said.

The clergyman said he was focused on his task and the people who insulting him, only did that because of what they read online.

“They are reacting to what they read. They are reacting to what they see and not what they know. You can’t know me and not like me, it’s impossible. Keep doing what you are doing and I’ll keep doing what I’m doing. I must do the work of he that sent me,”
 Suleman said.

He further added that he intentionally ignored all the videos made against him.

“My wife can bear witness, all the videos done against me, I’ve not watched one. Many of you have watched it but me, the subject matter, I’ve not watched one. What I don’t see cannot affect me.

"Somebody sent me a video from a blog yesterday, that was the last time it was on my phone. I guard my heart so that I can have fellowship with God. Stop all these rumours and gossips. What will not encourage me, I don’t give attention to it,”
 Suleman said.

The post

There are mixed reactions online as several Celestial church members disclosed that they ''passed'' exams they didn't write because they were in a trance in church.

They began sharing their stories after a Twitter user revealed that a friend of hers went into a trance in church yesterday, August 22, and she will likely stay that way for 7 days, meaning she will miss her exams which starts today.

Usually, white garment church members who go into a ''trance'' stay that way for days.

Other white garment church members, including Celestial Church members and Cherubim & Seraphim members, responded, saying the friend has nothing to worry about because the God who she is serving will 'take care of her exams.'

They then narrated how they missed their exams because they were in a trance, yet they passed.

One said he missed two exams while in a trance yet he had a better score than those who sat for it. He said she scored A in the courses.

Another said he had a 3.87 CGPA with no carryover, despite missing his exams because he was in a trance for 21 days.

Apostle Johnson Suleman

In what will come across as a really shocking development, a serious allegation of adultery has been levelled against controversial cleric, the general Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman.

The scandalous allegation was made by a Nigerian actress, Chioma Ifemeludike on her Instagram page.

According to her, she met with Apostle Johnson Suleman some time back in 2016, and the memory still torments her.

She said she was introduced to the cleric for a one-night stand in November 2016 while waiting to do her National Youth Service.

She claimed that her colleague, Lynda Clems was the one who arranged the meeting.

Sharing the video, she wrote; "True confession.

David Ibiyeomie

David Ibiyeomie

David Ibiyeomie, a popular Nigerian clergyman, has cautioned people to be careful of what they post on social media.

The Rivers state-based clergyman while preaching in his church recently, said social media depicts the true identity of a person., According to him, when an unmarried woman goes to a party in Transcorp and shares the photos online, no responsible man will marry her.

In his words: ''Social media depicts your true identity. When every Saturday you go to a party, you show, no responsible married man will marry you. Social media is the first thing to show who you are.

Mind what you put on social media You forget that if you snap in Transcorp, everybody has gone there. You are not married, so who took you to Transcorp? You don't have wisodm. You snap in a jet, who carried you into a jet?

Be careful with what you put on social media. Once you snap in Transcorp, you snap in Dubai, they would begin to ask, how did you get there? So the man who wants to marry you will withdraw.

Please be very careful. Social media shows your true identity. Mind what you put there''

He also added that international companies now check the social media handles of prospective employees before they offer employment.

A plot is being allegedly hatched to remove the CAN vice president, causing serious anxiety in the Christian body.
Anxiety and tension have enveloped the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) over alleged moves by the National Executive Committee (NEC) to remove the association’s Vice President, Prof. Joseph Otubu, Daily Sun reports.
It was gathered that today’s emergency NEC meeting was meant to discuss other issues that affect CAN, but, an insider said CAN’s President, Dr. Supo Ayokunle, allegedly altered the agenda to focus on the vice president.
Ayokunle and Otubu have been at loggerheads over alleged “sell out” of CAN by its president and ‘hobnobbing’ with the Federal Government, which had allegedly activated state security apparatus against Christians in Nigeria.
There were media reports, over the weekend, that NEC meeting, scheduled to hold today was to deliberate on the dispute between the two CAN leaders and, possibly, resolve the rift.
Prof. Otubu, had, in a petition to NEC, accused Ayokunle of financial mismanagement and maladministration.
NEC responded to the allegations by setting up a committee to look into the petition, as demanded by the petitioner.
The committee was said to have invited all individuals involved to appear before it with evidences, to substantiate the allegations and defend. CAN leadership said Otubu was the only person involved in the matter who did not appear before the committee.
He was said to have deliberately, or otherwise, disregarded all invitations extended to him by the committee, but, only responded when the report of the committee was released.
Meanwhile, the media aide to CAN President, Bayo Oladeji, told Daily Sun that the alleged plot to remove Otubu was untrue.
He said: “It is totally untrue. The kite could have been flown by Otubu’s loyalists, to pre-empt the possible outcome of the NEC meeting.”
When contacted, Otubu, said the NEC has no constitutional power to remove him as CAN’s vice president and “all their efforts would be in futility.
“Please disregard the media report and the alleged rumour. Constitutionally, they have no power to unseat me,” he said.
