A 99-year-old man from Owerri, Imo State and his partner, 86, tied the knot in church over the weekend after decades together.

One of their children, Michael Maduka took to Facebook on Satuday, August 21, to celebrate them.

"Wow... Finally the did has Been Done!! Please friends Join me in Celebrating my Parents!! They are the Newest Couples in the Whole World. At Age 86 my mom still say... "Yes I Do" Again to my Daddy @ age 99. Lord I thank you for the Success of it!!" he wrote.

Naira Marley, the popular singer, has reacted to trending video of guests dancing to his song ‘Coming’ at Yusuf, the son of President Muhammadu Buhari’s wedding in Kano State.

About one hundred private jets landed in Kano over the weekend as Buhari’s son wedded daughter of Emir of Bichi, Nasiru Bayero in Kano State.

It was a grand ceremony in Bichi, which was attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, former President Goodluck Jonathan, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, serving and former governors, Federal and states legislators, traditional rulers, as well as prominent personalities from within and outside the country.

The songs played at the wedding has attracted criticisms from Nigerians on social media and has drawn the attention of Naira Marley.

Sharing the video on his Instagram page, Naira Marley wished he was invited for the wedding, saying the North loves him.

His post read: “This was at Buhari’s son wedding yesterday in Kano. I’m a certified hit maker apparently, anytime you hear Naira Marley your home training must japa.

“I wish I was at this wedding sha looks too fun, I love them in the North and they love me too.”

Nigeria's number one man, President Muhammadu Buhari has dispatched a high-level delegation to Kano State, ahead of the wedding fathia between his son, Yusuf and Zahra Bayero, the daughter of the Emir of Bichi, Nasiru Ado Bayero.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on media and publicity, Garba Shehu.

Members of the delegation include Minister of Defence, Bashir Salihi Magashi; Minister of Agriculture, Sabo Nanono, Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika and Minister of Water Resources, Suleiman Hussein Adamu alongside Shehu himself who are all led by the Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari.

The statement reads, “Ahead of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to Kano for the marriage of his son, Yusuf Buhari, to Zahra Bayero, the daughter of Nasiru Ado Bayero, the Emir of Bichi in Kano State on Friday, the President has dispatched a high-level delegation to be led by his Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari.

”The Presidential delegation, including the Ministers of Defence, Maj Gen Bashir Salihi Magashi (rtd), Agriculture, Alhaji Sabo Nanono, Aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika and Water Resources, Engr. Suleiman Hussein Adamu as well as the Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media and Publicity), Garba Shehu will stay back after the wedding, to represent the President at the coronation of the Emir at Bichi the following day, Saturday."

SaharaReporters had earlier reported that Yusuf and Zahra's wedding is scheduled to hold on Friday, August 20.

The wedding ceremony is set to hold at the palace of the bride's father, Nasir Ado-Bayero, who rules Bichi, a town in Kano State.

Yusuf is set to get married to his bride to embark on a journey which started with their meeting while pursuing their academics in the United Kingdom.

The Emir of Bichi, father of the bride-to-be has given his approval, for the organisation and inauguration of a 145-man committee to ensure that the wedding ceremony does not meet any obstacle or complication along the way.

Nigeria's number one man, President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to attend the wedding Fatiha of his son, Yusuf Muhammadu Buhari; and his bride, Zahra Bayero on Friday in Bichi, Kano State.

The wedding Fatiha, which holds around 1:30 pm after the Friday prayer, is expected to be attended by  prominent personalities from within and outside the country.

The chairman, organising committee for the wedding and coronation arrangement, Shehu Ahmed, disclosed this while briefing newsmen in Kano on Wednesday on the activities lined up for the two important events.

He disclosed that Governor Abdullahi Ganduje is expected to present staff of office to the Emir of Bichi, Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, on Saturday, 21st August 2021.

“We have two historic events on Friday and Saturday in Bichi — that is the wedding Fatiha of Buhari’s son with the daughter of Emir of Bichi.

“President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to grace the wedding Fatiha of his son and the daughter of the Emir of Bichi in Bichi town on Friday,” he said.

He said a special prayer session would also be conducted at the Central Mosque, Bichi, by 4:30 pm.

He said other activities lined up for the coronation of the Emir include the coronation lecture to be held at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Bichi, on Thursday; while the ceremony for the presentation of the staff of office would be held at the Bichi stadium on Saturday.

He explained that adequate arrangements had also been put in place by the various subcommittees to ensure the success of the two events.

Daily Post reports that some governors and ministers with other top political officials stormed the palace of the Emir of Kano to formalise plans for the wedding of Yusuf Buhari, son of President Muhammadu Buhari.

The president’s son is getting married to Zara Nasir Ado Bayero, a daughter of the Emir of Bichi

The delegation to the palace was led by the Jigawa State Governor, Abubakar Badaru of Jigawa.

They are being hosted by the current Emir of Kano who is the older brother of the prospective bride’s father, Emir of Bichi.

The bride-to-be, Zara, is a 19-year-old graduate of Brighton University, UK. She studied Architecture.

Her father is the fourth child of the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero.

According to reports, the wedding is expected to be held between August and September this year.
