In what will come across as a really shocking development, a man has had his throat slashed open by his own son who tried to superglue it back to normalcy.
 The victim

A son allegedly slashed his dad's throat, tried to superglue the wound back together and attempted to drown out his screams by turning up the TV.

Jagdish Mishra, 40, from the city of Basti in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, is being hunted by cops after fleeing when neighbours heard the commotion.

His father Ramdev, 65, survived the attack, but is unable to speak and had to tell police officers what happened with hand gestures.

On Saturday the suspect reportedly attacked his father but then tried to seal the wound with a brand of superglue called Fevikwik.

Indian media reported he turned up the volume of the TV to drown out his father's screams, but then locked his father in and fled the scene when neighbours heard him.

Police officers broke in and rushed the bleeding victim to hospital. They are now trying to track down Jagdish Mishra.

There was pandemonium in the Akala and Idi-Oro areas of Mushin, Lagos State, on Tuesday when some hoodlums clashed with policemen from the Area D Command.

An injured victim

No fewer than five people, including a policeman, three others and a pupil, were reportedly killed on Tuesday when some hoodlums clashed with policemen from the Area D Command, in the Akala and Idi-Oro areas of Mushin, Lagos State.

According to PUNCH Newspaper, trouble started when a police team raided a shop on Elegba Street, where some hoodlums sold hemp.

The hoodlums attacked the policemen with broken bottles and stones in retaliation.

It was gathered that the policemen who retreated, reportedly returned with reinforcements and engaged the hoodlums in a gun battle.

While speaking to a correspondent, an eyewitness, said the police shot tear gas canisters into two private secondary schools, Ansarudeen Comprehensive College and Amazing Grace Secondary School, where some pupils were choked, and a pupil of Amazing Grace, Samuel Okechukwu, who was asthmatic, reportedly died.

The witness said, “The police had been raiding Akala and Idi-Oro for some weeks now and carrying away bags of hemp. The hoodlums believe that the police resell them. They had been planning to fight back.

“Last night (Monday), a man on Elegba Street took delivery of hemp worth N7m and the police got information about it. Around 11am, the policemen, led by the Area Commander, Area D Mushin, Akinbayo Olusoji, headed for the shop and seized the hemp.

“The residents, who had been enraged by previous raids,  mobilised and launched an attack. They threw stones, broken bottles and other items at the policemen.

“The policemen returned with reinforcements. Three people were shot dead. They fired two tear gas canisters into Ansarudeen Comprehensive College on Alhaji Lasisi Street and another one entered into Amazing Grace Secondary School on Elegba Street. Many of the pupils were affected. A boy died in Amazing Grace.”

It was learnt that the victim, Okechukwu, who was in Junior Secondary School two, was confirmed dead in a hospital. Another pupil, who was running home in the confusion that followed the shootout, was reportedly hit by a vehicle. His leg was broken.

A source faulted the police for shooting tear gas into the schools. “They should have known that at that period (11am), the pupils would be on break and would be playing on their premises. The boy that died lived with his parents on Amodu Street, Idi-Oro. He was their only child,” he added.

A resident, who did not want to be identified, said a policeman was killed, and noted that many passersby were injured during the mayhem.

The resident, however, said the fight was caused by alleged police extortion. “There are black spots in Idi-Oro where the hoodlums smoke hemp freely. The police collect settlement from them. The police had gone there two weeks ago and got some settlements. They returned today (Tuesday) and the boys resisted and that was how the fight started.

“The hoodlums brought out guns and engaged the police in a shootout. It was like a war. The police had killed two of them before a cop was seized and stabbed to death. They brought out his intestines with bottles,” he said.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti, said he was aware of the incident, adding that the details were still sketchy.

A man who has become deeply aggrieved with his wife for her allegedly obnoxious acts, has dragged her before the law to answer questions.

Uche Duru, a 33-year-old commercial motorcyclist, has threatened to dump his wife, Rita Nwolu, for being pregnant while still nursing their two months’ old baby.

According to a Punch Metro report, Duru also accused his wife of running away from home to join a baby factory, adding that she was attempting to sell the two-month-old baby to one Mrs. Ngozi Egeonu for N300,000.

He alleged that Egeonu was running a baby factory and had rented an apartment for Nwoli so as to co-opt her into her baby factory.

“I have been looking for my wife since December. I never knew that she had already sold my baby to a woman for N300,000. I also learnt that she is two months’ pregnant; how can my wife who was delivered of a baby two months ago be pregnant?

“I am not the owner of that pregnancy because I did not sleep with her. I have not seen her for the past two months and it is the police that discovered that she went to sell my baby. I will leave her if she fails to tell me where the pregnancy came from,” Duru added.

Thanking the police for recovering his baby, Duru explained that though he and Nwolu had been living together, he had not finished paying her bride price.

But the wife, who looked worn-out, disagreed with Duru, insisting that her husband impregnated her, even while she was still nursing her two-month-old baby.

“My husband is the owner of the pregnancy. He impregnated me. After I gave birth to the baby, my husband would smoke Indian hemp and forcefully sleep with me.

“It continued to happen like that until I noticed that I was pregnant. Each time I refused to have sex with him, he would use a cutlass to threaten me,” she said.

She denied selling the baby, explaining that since there was nobody to take care of her, she decided to hand over the baby to a Egeonu,  who promised to take care of the baby.

When confronted, Egeonu denied running a baby factory, explaining that what she ran was an orphanage in Owerri, Imo State.

She also denied buying Nwolu’s baby, but claimed that the N300,000 she offered the nursing mother, was to take care of the infant and her other children.

However, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in the Rivers State, Mr. Cyril Okoro, said men of the IGP Monitoring Unit, on February 16, 2018, arrested Nkechi Uzoemene, Roseline Okey and Nwolu, who allegedly conspired to sell a two-month-old baby boy without the consent of Nwolu’s husband.

Okoro said, “The suspects were said to have conspired amongst themselves and sold a two-month-old baby boy belonging to Rita Nwolu for the sum of N300,000, albeit without the consent of her husband, Uche Duru.

“The child was sold to Ngozi Egeonu in Owerri, Imo State. However, on the execution of a search in the house and premises of the buyer, operatives recovered nine pregnant young women, whose pregnancies have been mortgaged.

“Further investigation led to the recovery of the two-month-old baby boy at No. 24, Egbelu Street, Rumudara in Port Harcourt, where the duo of Ugo Amarachi (female) and Benjamin Amuobichukwu were arrested.”

Okoro explained that all the suspects had since confessed to being complicit in the alleged offence and would be charged to court soon.

All Progressives Congress chieftain, Governor Gaidam has attributed the negligence of the military to the success of the recent abduction by Boko Haram.

Ibrahim Gaidam

The Governor of Yobe State, Ibrahim Gaidam has blamed the abduction of the Dapchi schoolgirls on the withdrawal of security personnel from communities in the state.

Addressing journalists on Saturday at the Yobe state Government House, he alleged that security check points were withdrawn from Dapchi and other communities, few days before the attack, a development which he believes gave room for the incident.

“There was not any justification whatsoever to withdraw the military from that place, knowing fully well that there is a girls’ school there with about 900 of them and it’s a local government headquarters.

“They withdrew the military personnel last week, which was not even known to us,” he said.

This comes days after the state government claimed that some of the girls had been found, only to counter the statement later, as none had actually been rescued.

The hopes of parents were dashed, even as they continue to demand the rescue of their children. As part of their efforts to drive home their demand, the parents formed an association through which they were able to ascertain that 105 girls were actually still missing.

The students were said to have disappeared from their school, Government Girls Science and Technical College Dapchi, in Yobe state, after gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram terrorists invaded the school on Monday.

Governor Gaidam has, however, promised that the government will stop at nothing to ensure the girls are rescued.

He also noted that he had called the attention of the Theatre Commander who has promised to restore the presence of the military personnel to the state.

Peoples Democratic Party chieftain, Fayose has made a fresh appeal to 75-year old President Buhari to honourably dismount the horse as former President Obasanjo advised.

Ayodele Fayose

The Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has reiterated his call for the resignation of President Muhammadu Buhari, describing the present insecurity and economic problems in the country as evidence of the President’s cluelessness and inability to steer the ship of the country.

The governor said; “For a President that was elected because he promised to fight corruption and clear the Northeast of the Boko Haram insurgents within three months, the signs that he must take a bow and return home are clear even more than crystal.”

In a statement issued on Saturday, by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, the governor said latest events in the country, especially the abduction of over 100 pupils of the Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi, Yobe State, and the Transparency International (TI) damning report revealing that the perception of corruption in Nigeria worsened between 2016 and 2017, further vindicated his position before the 2015 presidential election that President Muhammadu Buhari lacked the required capacity to govern a diverse and complex nation like Nigeria.

He said; “President Buhari promised Nigerians that he will bring back the missing Chibok Girls and defeat Boko Haram within three months.

After more than 32 months in office, Boko Haram is still killing Nigerians, with herdsmen also on a killing spree.

“Painfully, the same Boko Haram they claimed to have defeated suddenly became strong enough to kidnap over 100 students. Now, Nigeria is not only looking for the remaining Chibok Girls, another over 100 innocent students have joined, this is unacceptable!

“Funny enough, a few days ago, the President called on all Nigerians to be prepared to pay the ‘ultimate price’ for the progress and unity of the nation and I wish to ask him what other price does he wants Nigerians to pay.

“Already, Nigerians are sacrificing their lives by getting killed while seeking what to eat. Some have even committed suicide! Yet, the same President who is enjoying all the benefits of his office is calling on Nigerians to forgo personal pleasures and pay the ultimate price. ”

Governor Fayose, who described those urging President Buhari to seek reelection as selfish people who do not have the interests of Nigerians at heart, added that no right-thinking Nigerian would pray to have the fate of the country in the hands of a clueless individual like President Buhari for another four years.

When President Buhari mounts the campaign podium, what will he tell Nigerians? Will he tell Nigerians that corruption and insecurity has not worsened than it was in 2015? Will the President say that Nigerians deserve to be buying petrol that they were buying at N86 per litre in 2015 at N180 now?

“Is President Buhari going to justify that within 30 months, Nigeria’s debt that was N12.06 trillion in 2015 increased by over N10 trillion?

“Fact is that Nigeria is under a rudderless federal government. Everything is now upside down, with everywhere in the country becoming insecure. What Nigerians expect in a situation like this is a clean break from this calamitous government and new breath of life, not a continuation of a government lacking direction.”

The girl revealed that her grandmother told her years ago that her father rejected her mum because of the name of her place, Umuosu Ubakala in Umuahia South, Abia State.

The man reportedly believed they were Osu people (outcast) as he said he can’t marry and live with an outcast.

With the help of Victor, the girl launched a search online in order to meet with her father after seeing a picture of him and her late mum hidden with her birth certificate. According to the lady, her mom died in 2008.

Sandra's birth certificate

With the help of Victor, the girl's father was located. Victor revealed that he has contacted the lady's dad, Okeneke Joe who lives in Jos, Plateau South.

He further revealed that he spoke with the girl's father yesterday afternoon, who was very surprised on hearing about his long lost daughter. The man also reportedly accepted that he can’t wait to see his daughter Sandra.

According to Victor, Sandra will be on her way to Jos any moment from now to meet her biological father for the first time after two decades.

Victor wrote: "This world is indeed a very small tiny place. We all should be extremely careful my brothers and sisters. Don't ever think you can commit and disappear and no one will ever find you again! Big Fat Lie! Truly, as long as we are alive, we still have a date with our past.

Mr. Okeneke Joe

Brothers and Sisters, I wish to inform everyone that we have found Sandra's father Mr Okeneke Joe. When we made the post, one lady commented that she knows the man in Jos. I chatted her up and she agreed to house Sandra when she comes to Jos and take her to the man's shop. Later in the night, another guy chatted me up that he knows the man too in Jos. He promised to get me his phone number and this afternoon, I just spoke for hours with Mr Okeneke Joe on phone. I introduced myself and told him everything Sandra told me. I could sense the shock and surprise in his voice! I'm sure he never ever ever saw it coming. But Awwwww! He is just a humble man. No stress! He accepted that he can't wait to see his daughter Sandra.

So any moment from now, Sandra will be on her way to Jos to meet her biological father for the first time after two decades. We will transport her from the money in the group account.

Thanks everyone who shared the post! I am now fearing the power of social media! Please let's live right bro. Don't ever think you can impregnate a lady and disappear. One day, that child will go out to search for you and just like Sandra, you must be found in a way you will be shocked to the marrows.
